Home and Garden Show at the Trafalgar Centre in Nelson

Over the weekend of 18-20 October 2009, I had a six metre display stand at the Home and Garden Show at the Trafalgar Centre in Nelson.

As over 8,000 people visit this show, this was an good opportunity to mount a comprehensive exhibition of paintings and bronze sculptures to introduce my work to the Nelson public. This included the three most recent works.

Two of these were of the large roading bypass project which crosses the bottom of the road on which I live, and as big machinery is involved, the 'little boy' in me just had to do something. I anticipate producing more in this series using a more complicated format, but these were a satisfying beginning.

The other was of the marble outcrops at the top of the Takaka Hill, 'Earth Bones # 3', another series which will be ongoing.

The display was well received. The works are shown individually in other places on my website, and are on display at my studio.
